AMA stands for American Marketing Association. AMA, one of the largest professional associations for marketers, which has thousands of members worldwide in every area of marketing.



The American Marketing Association at The University of Texas-Pan American seeks out students who are interested in gaining more knowledge and experience in their field of interest and meeting new people. AMA is open to students of all majors and is one of the largest organizations on campus. AMA's size offers companies an opportunity to reach many students with a wide range of interests and skills.

We have many benefits to offer our members. Through participation in group activities, events, and projects, members are able to develop marketing skills with hands-on experience. Interaction with the business community and the faculty helps members build a network of business contacts and enhance their professional development.

AMA holds bimonthly meetings in which guest speakers visit from various fields. Past speakers have worked in mass media, retail/sales, brand management, sports marketing, advertising, and consumer goods. After meetings, students have the opportunity to meet and talk with the speakers on an individual basis (picture below).

AMA informs its members of the many opportunities that businesses make available to them. This allows companies to help us accomplish our goals as an organization and, at the same time, meet their professional needs as a business.
